About the photograph
This photograph of 10 Murray Street was the last trip I made documenting the site before the entire building was clad in scaffolding for demolition. The next time I would document 10 murray Street would be the demolition process. This photograph captures the south facing facade bathed in morning light. Whilst demolition work had commenced in the interior, and the east facing entry already had pylons through the lower floors, this perspective captured 10 Murray Street as it had been witnessed for the past 50 years, as if it was just another day in its life, but in reality was soon to be lost forever. I remember it being an emotional day as I knew that these series of photographs I made on this day would be the last time I would see 10 Murray Street as it stood, bringing to an end over a decade of documenting this building.
